Questions and answers
About pblc, and about asking someone’s profile a question.
About pblc
What is pblc?
pblc (said “public”) gives a person or a brand one page at pblc.ai/their-name: their links, events and work, with an assistant that answers visitors’ questions about them, day and night.
Who makes pblc?
Studio PropelHaus Inc., a small team in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t show ads.
How do I get my own pblc?
Join the waitlist on pblc.ai and choose your address (5 to 30 letters and numbers): we keep it for you until pblc opens up. You can also tap the pblc logo on any profile to claim yours. pblc has a free plan.
What is Explore?
Explore shows what’s on in a city or a neighbourhood: upcoming events, and the people and places on pblc there. Search it in your own words. Nobody can pay to be placed in it.
Asking a profile
Who answers when I ask a profile a question?
The profile’s assistant answers first. It answers only from what the person published on their profile and the information they approved, and says so when it doesn’t know.
It’s an AI assistant: it says so and never pretends to be the person. The person, and the people on their team, can read the conversation and reply themselves, right in the chat.
Is it AI? Can it be wrong?
Yes, the assistant’s answers are written by AI (OpenAI’s models), and AI can be wrong. Check what matters, like prices, dates or availability, with the person. The assistant can’t make a commitment for them or for pblc.
Do I need an account to ask?
No. On pblc.ai you just ask, and we don’t ask who you are. Before your first message, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you’re a person. Your browser remembers the conversation for 24 hours, so you can reload the page and carry on.
Who reads my messages?
- The person and their team: the profile’s owner and the team members whose role includes conversations.
- OpenAI: your messages go to OpenAI to write the answers and to screen the conversation for spam. They aren’t used to train its models, and OpenAI keeps them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
- pblc: authorized staff can access conversations when needed to run, secure and support pblc.
Don’t share sensitive information, like passwords or card numbers, in a chat. More in our Privacy Policy.
Can I book or buy through a profile?
A profile links to the person’s own shop, tickets or booking page, and you buy or book there. When they have a booking calendar (Calendly or Cal.com), the assistant can show “Book a time”; it opens with the name and email you gave in the chat filled in.
Why does the chat say “Conversation has ended”?
When a message looks like spam or abuse, or after more than three crude or off-topic messages in a row, the chat ends on its own and the conversation moves to the owner’s spam. If you think it was a mistake, write to hello@propelhaus.com and a person will look at it.
Privacy and safety
How do I report a profile or an answer?
Tap Report under the profile, or Report an answer under the chat, and say what’s wrong. The person you report won’t know it was you. The pblc team looks at reports promptly, usually within a day. You can also write to support@propelhaus.com.
Can I have my conversation deleted?
Yes. Write to hello@propelhaus.com with enough to find it: the profile, the date and something you wrote. We answer within 30 days. We delete our copy; the person may have kept what they received, and you can ask them too. Clearing your browser doesn’t delete the conversation from our servers.
How do I contact pblc?
- Help and reports: support@propelhaus.com. We usually answer within one or two business days.
- Privacy and legal questions: hello@propelhaus.com.
Our Privacy Policy and Terms have the details.
